Apraava Energy

Apraava Energy is a diversified power company, jointly owned by the CLP Group - one of the largest investor-owned power businesses in Asia -and Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec (CDPQ) - a global investment group. Founded in 2002, Apraava has evolved from being a single-asset company to a forward-looking, climate-conscious organisation. Apraava Energy's portfolio comprises 3,150 MW of installed capacity which includes 924 MW of wind and 250 MW of solar energy projects across seven states, a 1320 MW coal-fired super critical power plant and two power transmission assets. The name Apraava Energy has been derived from an amalgamation of four elements: Agni (Fire), Prithvi (Earth), Ambu (Water) and Vayu (Wind). The company aims to invest in low-carbon growth areas, including renewable energy, power transmission and distribution, as well as other non-generation, customer-focused energy businesses.

HCL Foundation

HCL Technologies implements its Corporate Social Responsibility agenda through its CSR arm, the HCL Foundation. Various flagship programmes and initiatives of the Foundation, endeavour to contribute towards national and international development goals, bringing about lasting positive impact on people and planet, through long term sustainable programmes with thematic focus on Education, Health & Sanitation, Skill Development & Livelihood, Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction & Response. True to their philosophy , HCL foundation has very graciously supported TISS-SSE students by funding their tuition fees who were in real need in sectors like BFSI,Hospitality and Health care by making difference to more than 200 students in the area of education and skill development.

Bajaj Finserv CSR Project

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences, School of Skill Education (TISS SSE) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bajaj Finserv in April 2025 to implement the Healthcare Skills Programme for 514 underprivileged students across Maharashtra. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Bajaj Finserv extended financial support to TISS SSE for the successful implementation of the project, which is scheduled to continue until June 2027. TISS SSE implements its unique three-year Work Integrated Bachelor's Degree Programmes for Healthcare. The programmes seamlessly combine academic learning with hands-on industry experience, allowing students to earn while they learn and graduate with three years of practical work experience. This distinctive model significantly enhances their employability and career readiness. The Bajaj Finserv CSR project specifically focuses on the Healthcare sector, aiming to develop a skilled and industry-ready healthcare workforce while creating meaningful employment opportunities for underserved youth. Beyond financial assistance, the initiative empowers students with professional skills, practical exposure, and confidence, enabling them to build sustainable careers and contribute positively to society. This collaboration between Bajaj Finserv and TISS SSE stands as a meaningful example of how academia and industry can work together to drive inclusive growth, strengthen the nation's skilled workforce, and transform the lives of young people through education and opportunity.

Apraava Energy CSR Project - A Few Glimpses

Tata Institute of Social Sciences, School of Skill Education (TISS SSE) signed an MOU with Apraava Energy Private Limited in January 2020. This MOU was signed to implement the Skill Development Project for 2000 underprivileged students. This was a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project of Apraava Energy under which they gave the funding of Rs.3 crore to TISS SSE. The project ended in June 2024. TISS SSE is implementing three years work integrated bachelor's degree programmes at the pan India level in various sectors like Healthcare; Power; Banking, Finance Sector and Insurance; Child Care etc. Students get three years of work experience while pursuing the programme and thus they become employable upon completion of their graduation. Financial support in the form of scholarships was extended to 2004 students to pay their educational fees who were enrolled in TISS SSE programmes. The project focus was on two key sectors - Healthcare and Power (Renewable Energy). In addition to this, a few students from other sectors too were supported as exceptions.
