The Tourism and Hospitality industry, along with the related sectors contributing to it, is expected to grow in leaps and bounds in the coming years. The hospitality industry is one of the key growth drivers among the service sectors in India. The pace of growth and contribution of this sector to the GDP will continue to be substantially higher than other sectors of the economy on the back of huge tourism potential in the country.
Programme Introduction
The B.Voc. (Travel and Tourism) programme is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the tourism system by integrating foundational knowledge with industry-oriented skills. The programme examines the evolution, structure and functioning of the tourism industry, including tourism impact analysis, tourism marketing, tourist behaviour, tourism products, service operations and destination management. With a strong emphasis on experiential learning, the programme combines classroom teaching with intensive skill training and industry engagement to develop practical competencies required in travel and tourism management. It also focuses on building professional skills, entrepreneurship and adaptability to meet evolving industry demands. The curriculum addresses foundational and emerging areas such as sustainable and responsible tourism, digital transformation and experiential travel. By fostering innovation, ethical practices and problem-solving abilities, the programme prepares graduates to design, manage and deliver tourism services effectively in a dynamic and globally interconnected environment.
